CodeSand Co., Ltd. (CEO Sungyong Eom) launched 'PaceMate', a progress-tracking app for exam takers, on the App Store on May 19, 2026. The app puts the days left until an exam and your own progress on one screen, and lets you compare them side by side with the average pace of people preparing for the same exam.
The hardest thing to judge when studying alone is your own pace. You can count the days left, but without anything to compare against, you cannot tell whether your speed is fast or slow. PaceMate takes that point of comparison from people preparing for the same exam.
'Pools' of people preparing for the same exam
The Explore tab shows exam pools created by users themselves. Each pool shows its number of participants and average progress, so you can get a feel for it before joining. If the exam you are looking for is not there, you can create and run a pool yourself, and if you want to bring together only people you know, you can create a private pool that can be joined only with an invite code. Pools cover the CSAT and mock exams, high school equivalency exams, civil service exams, university practical-skills admissions, language tests, professional certification exams and more.
Several exams on one screen
For every pool you join, the days left and your progress are calculated automatically and shown side by side. Even when you are preparing for several exams at once, each pace is shown separately. Entering a pool shows the day's tasks, and recent records remain as dots so you can see the flow. Users in the same pool follow each other's progress through posts, replies and likes in the feed.
Vocabulary study and quizzes
Vocabulary decks for the CSAT, frequent CSAT words, TOEIC, high school equivalency exams, JLPT, JPT, HSK and more are divided by level. You flip through cards to see meanings and phonetic symbols, and tap the speaker to hear the pronunciation. The same deck can be taken as a four-option quiz with instant grading; words you get wrong come back as cards, and words you found confusing gather in 'Difficult words' and reappear when you review.
Free, with nothing locked
PaceMate is a free app with no in-app purchase items at all. It has no ads and no features hidden behind payment. Without signing up, you can browse pools and learn words as a guest, and logging in is needed only to post. If you delete your account, your profile and avatar are deleted immediately, and your posts remain anonymously to keep the conversation in the pool intact.
Exam schedules shown in the app are for reference only. Check the official announcements of the administering organization for application periods and exam dates.
